11)Regional Focus? The collective – that is participating in the drafting of this form – was born from the precedent group that has managed the page of the local category "calabria" on the site italy.indymedia.org. After the decision of the national network of "delocalizing itself" toward local sites, with the objective to have greater presence in the territory, a mailing list has been created for coordinating such group. We are trying to involve even more people and groups, because we want to reach a coverage of Calabria as much complete as possible, pushing even over the regional territory (e.g.: into the near region Lucania).
12)Issue Focus? The people who are getting involved in the creation of the local community of indymedia, are intended to discuss and face the following themes: environment, trial against no-global activists after the facts of the G8 in Genoa in 2001, immigration, antifascisms, social precariousness. We are interested to focus us on all the thematics that concern the Calabrian territorial area. We desire therefore to spread among the people the use of indymedia to furnish whoever in the territory with an alternative tool for the communication, free from propagandist intents.
13)Event Focus? We intend to open surely a mediacenter on the occasion of the closing of the trial against no-global activists, after the facts of the G8 in Genoa in 2001. Other initiatives are not excluded, with opening of a mediacenter, in collaboration with local antagonistic realities, to guarantee to other events a media coverage, which is free from the conditionings and from the distorsions of the traditional and conventional comunication medias.

16)Please write an introductory statement about why you want to participate in the Indymedia Network. Our objective is giving the possibility to any person to be own media so that to break the information mainstream, driven by Masonic lobbies and potentates, inclined almost exclusively to the maintenance of their status and to an ending profit to itself .
17)What kind of resources can you contribute, in terms of server/bandwidth/technical and organizing skills? There is the intention to share server and relative costs of maintenance, together to other Italian IMCs. Among us there are experienced , though few, computer experts who are able to maintain the server and supposed to share own technical knowledges with other activists of the group.
18)What kind of outreach have you done to bring together a diverse group of people? In the past, when there has been the old Calabrian regional category of indymedia italia, we have organized some workshops and informative banquets to attract as much people as possible to the project of indymedia. Often it happened to many of us to discuss of indymedia on the roads, among the people. Currently we are discussing on the fit strategies to spread in our territory the knowledge of the tool of indymedia.
19)How does the makeup of your collective reflect the diversity of the local community (e.g. in realtion to gender-, sexual-, spiritual-, and/or cultural-identity)? The group, which is culturally very homogeneous inside, doesn't represent all the social components of the local community. Even if, inside the group, there are enough people involved actively in the Calabrian social realities.
20)If your group currently does not represent the diversity of the local community, particularly in relation to groups who are underrepresented in mainstream society and denied access to vehicles of expression, what steps will be taken to address this on an ongoing basis? We think to compensate this lacking articulated difference in the group with a greater presence in the initiatives to social purposes. We would want to organize activities of sensitization toward the use and the philosophy of indymedia through Workshops&Meetings for individuals or groups of individuals that in the so-called "conventional society" are under-represented.
21)What steps will be taken to involve individuals in workfields new to them? What measures will be taken to overcome a gendered work division? For the first question one can see the answer to the previous one. For the second question, the problem is not set.
